We still have only nice weather. With Alaska we have entered the territory of the “United States”. From Dawson over the “Top of the World” Highway to Chicken. We are now allowed to stay in the USA for 90 days. Via Fairbanks to Anchorage and further to Whittier to the Gulf of Alaska. It is basically like in Canada. The absolute highlight is Denali. Thanks to our annual pass we drive relaxed into the park. It is absolutely breathtaking to experience this 6000 meter high mountain. We were also honored not to see it covered in clouds. <\/p>\n\n

The clock is ticking. On to the “Lower 48” of the USA. Over Canada again to Vancouver in the USA. This time we stand 3 1\/2 hours at the border. It reminds us of the time before the EU. It is very nice to travel in our Europe, without borders! <\/p>\n\n

Whashington, Oregon also spoil us with breathtaking nature and only beautiful weather. Again, the heat is omnipresent as soon as you get away from the coast. We drive along the coast on back roads. The forests are a must see. Redwood National Park is overwhelming. Gigantic trees two to three thousand years old. We think to ourselves, Jesus came to our world and they were already a thousand years old. Somehow you can’t get it into your head and realize how insignificant our existence is. <\/p>\n\n

We find ourselves at a national campground on the coast. One neighbor is from Bad Bergzabern and the other from H\u00f6rdt. Can that be true? <\/p>\n\n

34 years ago we were in San Francisco on our honeymoon. Of course we go to the Golden Gate Bridge. A picture with Max has to be. This time, as then, the fog covering the bridge. <\/p>\n\n

We continue east. My neighbor Georg, from my youth in Reit im Winkl, lives in Boulder near Denver. At this point we would like to thank him for the recommended itinerary “Unten Rum”. California, Death Valley, Nevada, , Arizona, Utah, Colorado. The parks, Zion, Bryce, Yosemite, Arches, etc. are also very special. We also traveled beside the parks, and found more fabulous nature without people. The lands are mainly desert and sand, thus very hot at this time of year. In Death Valley we had 53\u00b0. Only good that we have already found in Canada that a hose of the air conditioning has chafed. Knowing what to expect makes these temperatures a breeze. Honestly? It is murderous! <\/p>\n\n

Further into the Rockys. There it is nice and cool again. 37\u00b0 in Boulder near Denver. My friend said only, “normally lies in the mountains already the first snow”! Well, that’s not going to happen this year! On the 3950 meter high Stones Peak it was still 8\u00b0. In Boulder I got the necessary material to give Max a working air conditioner again. I love Max, he never lets us down. <\/p>\n\n \n\n
